Fifth Third Bank Eastern Michigan participated in the American Heart Association’s 2009 Start! Heart Walk. With the commitment and dedication of Diane Jackson, team captain, and with ten individual team captains recruiting their coworkers, family and friends to become walkers in an effort to raise donated funds, Fifth Third Bank raised a total of $13,551 in six weeks. After contributing a $5000 sponsorship, the bank’s grand total donation in 2009 is $18,551. This far exceeded last year’s fundraising tally of $12,341, conducted in better economic conditions and over a ten-week span.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

A bank’s connection to the community is one of the strongest links it can forge. Regardless of how big a bank may be, it is the communities they serve that determine its success. The businesses and people that make up the neighborhoods surrounding each Fifth Third banking center is the foundation that fuels the growth of that center. The bank then in turn supports that community with financial and human services that creates a stable prosperous core for people who live there. Whether it is small business loans, mortgages or checking products, everyone uses the bank to reach for better tomorrow’s. Banks and communities count on each other. We are all in this together....
