» FIFTH THIRD INCREASES AMERICAN HEART ASSOCATION FUNDRAISING
Fifth Third Bank Eastern Michigan participated in the American Heart Association’s 2009 Start! Heart Walk. With the commitment and dedication of Diane Jackson, team captain, and with ten individual team captains recruiting their coworkers, family and friends to become walkers in an effort to raise donated funds, Fifth Third Bank raised a total of $13,551 in six weeks. After contributing a $5000 sponsorship, the bank’s grand total donation in 2009 is $18,551. This far exceeded last year’s fundraising tally of $12,341, conducted in better economic conditions and over a ten-week span.

» FIFTH THIRD E-BUS RETURNS TO DETROIT
The Fifth Third Homeownership Mobile will be coming back into the Southeastern Michigan market in August 2009. The E-Bus is a 40-foot bus that is retrofitted with a bank of computers, Internet connectivity and a section for private consultation as needed. The purpose of the E-Bus has been to assist first-time homebuyers in purchasing a home and to provide homeownership counseling, education and follow-up evaluation and assistance. This year, as a result of the current economic environment, the primary focus of the bus is to be a resource center for the community.
